IN THE words of Winston Churchill, 'this was our finest hour' — a sentiment that will no doubt resonate with the men and women of Werrington Cricket Club.
Werrington clinched the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League Premier Division at Falmouth in September for the second consecutive year, and followed that up with victory in the County 50/50 Cup, again, against Falmouth; this time at St Austell.
Captain Ben Smeeth and his men left Werrington at 9am on the Saturday morning in a minibus driven by the trusty Neil Orchard.
After a healthy light breakfast at Hamburger Hill, the team arrived at Falmouth's ground in good time for a 12.30pm start.
