BUDE were forced into a number of changes for their game at home to Caradon, which the visitors won 3-1.

They went into the game with seven injuries which is well over half the regular team and this showed throughout the game as unsurprisingly they lacked cohesion and understanding.

The injuries meant that Bude would have to play most players out of position and league debuts were given to Steve Mclellan and Jon List who have been impressive in training.

Despite the makeshift side Bude started well creating a number of chances and had it not been for the visiting keeper who was in fine form pulling off two spectacular saves — one diving with his stick low in the corner and another with his glove from the top corner.

Caradon struck midway through the half as an aerial ball found its way to their striker who turned and after his initial shot was only parried by Andy Davis, he picked up the the loose ball and fired into an empty net.

The game remained fairly even with chances at both ends but neither side were able to convert any before half-time.

The second-half was a different story as Caradon came out super confident and put pressure on Bude who self destructed giving away numerous unforced errors and possession at every opportunity as they struggled to put more than handful of passes together at any one point.

This lack of ball for Bude allowed Caradon to flow freely through the gears and they got a second as their very young striker found himself unmarked in the D where he then cooly lifted the ball over the advancing Davis.

Bude as always never gave up and rallied eventually getting a goal back as Charlie Falla smashed home a low shot into the corner.

This was brief respite as Caradon pushed on and soon restored the two-goal lead when a shot squeezed between the defenders and then through the keepers legs, it could have been more if it wasn’t for a superb overhead goal line clearance.
