LAUNCESTON U8s capped a fantastic season by winning the U8s tournament held at Bournemouth RFC on the last weekend of March.

With all the other mini and juniors age groups they left Polson bridge bright and early on Saturday morning and travelled up the M5 to Taunton RFC where they played friendly games against Taunton and Bromsgrove RFC.

In total five games were played on the Saturday with the team drawing one and winning the other four. Their final 'warm up' game before the next day's tournament was Saturday evening on Sandbanks beach with many of the parents getting involved.

Sunday dawned, a quick fry up and the team headed over to Bournemouth from their hotel in Poole to compete in the tournament along with over another 120 teams of various ages and UK locations.

The U8s started in brilliant fashion by thrashing the hosts Bournemouth 10 tries to 4 — this result was the best of the day from any team in the U8 section.
