HOLSWORTHY & District Lions were runners-up in the recent regional skittles tournament (District 105SW). The district contains more than 60 clubs ranging from Yeovil in the east down to Penzance, and the final was held in Exeter. The winners were the Yeo Valley club, which beat Holsworthy 308 to 293. There was only one point in it going into the last rub, but Yeo valley held their nerve and pulled away to win by 15 points. Top scorer for Holsworthy was Roger Allin, whilst the 'highlight' of the evening was a member of the Yeo Valley club asking: "Where exactly is Holsworthy then?" For the full report, and a round-up of the local news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.

SKITTLES captain Paul Gould receives the runners-up trophy from the South-West District Governor-elect Alan Good.
