CHILDREN'S charity CHICKS held their annual golf day at Trethorne Golf Club, near Launceston, recently raising a record amount for the Cornwall-based charity.
140 players from across Cornwall and Devon took part in the day which successfully raised £9,237 for the charity which provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children.
Event organiser, Mick Ryan, said: 'It was a fantastic day and we're over the moon with that we managed to raise more than ever before.
"This is the 15th year we've run the golf day and it seems to be getting bigger and better every year.
'I would like to say a personal thank you to our many supporters who entered teams and the dozens of individuals and companies who donated such wonderful prizes.
"Many thanks also to our sponsors this year Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management and to all at Trethorne Golf Club for hosting such another enjoyable and successful day."
Golfers took part in an 18 hole stable ford competition where there was a chance to win a prize on every hole including a £10,000 prize for a hole in one. The winning team was CHIPS Golf Society, a Plymouth based society founded in 1999 by the employees of Plessey Semiconductors Ltd based at Roborough.
