Ross Golf Club's investment in recent years in the development of young people continues to pay considerable dividends as evidenced by the latest exploits of 11-year-old Timmy Fycun and 13-year-old Charlie Smith, who recently celebrated receiving their official adult golf handicap certificates.

Timmy's interest in the game started just over two years ago when taster sessions were introduced to Bridstow Primary School. He subsequently joined the Ross Club through their Tigers membership and quickly made a name for himself on the golf course, resulting in his selection for the Gloucestershire County under 12s squad.

With his handicap tumbling rapidly from 54 he has been awarded his first adult 28 handicap enabling him to take part in the Club's Annual mixed foursomes Strong Trophy. He partnered the Club's 2014 Lady Captain, Jeanette Forrester in an event which also included 12-year-old Harry Griffiths, a 19 handicapper and another of the Ross Club's aspiring youngsters.
