FOUR local ladies from Launceston and Bude are raising money for Breast Cancer charity 'Walk the Walk' this weekend by walking the route of the London Marathon.

Now this is no ordinary marathon; named the Moon Walk London, it takes place at night, with participants having to wear decorated bras.

The ladies set to take on the 26 mile walk are Joan Coney, Cheryll Leach, Ann Venning and Norma Chalk. They are a mixture of Launceston Road Runners and Bude Tennis Club members.

The event involves walking the route of the London Marathon overnight, starting at 11pm on Saturday, May 16, and all money raised goes towards Breast Cancer Research — a charity close to the hearts of many, no more so than Joan who was once a sufferer of the disease.

She said: "I had breast cancer in 2008 and am grateful to be able to raise funds to help other sufferers."

So far the group have raised over £600 and are still collecting. If anyone would like to sponsor the ladies, Ann has set up an online donation page which can be found via http://www.moonwalklondon2015.everydayhero.com/uk/ann-22">www.moonwalklondon2015.everydayhero.com/uk/ann-22.
