CALLINGTON teenager Brad Stevens has just returned from two tough weekends of cross-country running with very creditable results for Cornwall.
The 15-year-old, who attends Callington Community College and also plays for Callington Town Colts, represented the Duchy at under 17 level in the National Cross Country Championships at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough on Saturday, March 10 and finished 63rd out of 281 runners.
Then seven days later he donned the gold and black to run for Cornwall in the National Schools Championships at Leeds and finished 51st out of 339 participants.
Brad, who is combining running with his football and preparing for his GCSEs, was pleased with how the two races went.
He said: “I was wanting to put in two good performances, especially competing against guys two years older than me in the first race so I was really pleased with the timings and to finish so high up the leaderboard.”
