The football season came to an end on Saturday with Narberth thirds having to pick themselves up to play after losing out on cup silverware during midweek.

They lost the fifth division cup final courtesy of penalties, despite being 3-0 up at half-time.

The Bluebirds dominated to such an extent that two goals by Dafydd Wright and one by Jason Jones looked certain for them to walk away as cup winners, yet Angle bounced back in dramatic style to force the game into extra-time thanks to a Jason Evans hat-trick and finally prevailing 6-5.

The following evening, Lamphey went into battle against Merlins Bridge hoping to secure the division three cup to go alongside their league triumph of the previous week. With confidence high and the Wizards' at rock bottom following their relegation from the division, few would have given the Bridge a hope of winning, yet they managed to take a 1-0 lead which they kept until the first minute of the second half when Daniel Kitts equalised.

They should have pressed on from here, and created enough chances to do so (as they did in the first half), but football finals play heavily on the mind and, despite having the lion's share of possession, the Bridge held out to take the game into penalties.

As with Narberth, they lost out 6-5.

Quite how the Bluebirds' third string managed to get motivated for Saturday's end of season finalé is a mystery, but they did enough to draw 2-2 with Letterston after goals from Karl Jones and Rory Jolly.

Narberth firsts were also in action as they came back from losing 3-2 in the week to Tenby to beat Goodwick 4-2 at home to finish the season off in style.

The goals were shared around in the free-flowing contest, with Adrian Jones, Tony Evans, Jordan Williams and Nathan Evans all scoring against Goodwick, while Ashley Williams and Jordan Williams scored against Tenby.

For Tenby, the goals came from Jack Christopher and a Joe Leahy brace.

Kilgetty seconds also finished the season off in style with a 4-3 win over Llangwm seconds.

The goals were shared between Sam Franklyn, Christian Phillips, Matthew Morris and Christopher Monahan.

Over the past few weeks, St. Florence have scored more goals than most and they were at it again for their second to last game of the season, with a 3-1 win over Hundleton seconds. Charlie Patching, Rob Goldsworthy and Elliott Goldsmith all scored for the victors.

For their final kick about of the season, though, they could only manage a 0-0 draw at Camrose seconds.
