Cinderford St John 129-9 in 45 overs

Redmarley 120 all out in 33.1 overs

CINDERFORD captain Simon Gwynne led the way with the bat, picked up two wickets and took three catches as his side edged the Forest derby.

Gwynne scored 29 before being run out by Joe Lawrence as his side posted 129 against an attack which saw Ollie Norman claim three wickets, Rob Gummer and James Holland get a pair each and Gareth Yardley also finding success.

Apart from Gwynne the only Cinderford players to reach double figures were Julian Kibble with 16, Craig Rich with 13 and Mark Roberts with 12.

Set a target of 130 to win Redmarley set about the task briskly but ultimately the success of the home side's bowlers proved decisive.

Redmarley's top scorer was Timothy Hayward with 23 followed closely by Gareth Yardley on 22.

Opener Adam Chalkley hit three fours in his knock of 18 before being caught by Reece Bowkett off the bowling of Jordan Warren.

Bowkett finished the day with two wickets for 32 runs off nine overs while the top performance with ball in hand for Cinderford was from Jordan Warren who claimed three for 20 off nine overs.

Julian Kibble bowled James Beagles with his only ball of the day and Mark House also got a couple of wickets.

The win puts Cinderford into sixth while Redmarley are fourth. The Forest's only other side in the county league, Westbury, are second after beating Frampton-on-Severn away by two wickets.
