Eight trampolinists from the Zero Gravity Academy who train at Launceston Leisure Centre, travelled to Bath University on Sunday, March 24, with coach Anne Dodds to compete in the British Gymnastics South West Division’s Compulsory Final after qualifying in their previous grading competitions to achieve a place in the South West squad for the season.
They all had to compete in their qualifying categories against all other trampolinists in the South West who had also qualified to take part.
To achieve a place in the South West squad, the trampolinists had to achieve a higher qualifying score of 48.00, be placed in the top two positions and also pass their range and conditioning on floor with a pass mark of over 70%.
Results are as follows with five of the eight finishing first in their category while Yasmin Rundle came second to also qualify.
Kiera Moore — 1st in the 13+ Girls NDP 1; Dylan Rundle — 1st in the 13+ Boys NDP 1; Oliver Vine — 1st in the 11-12yrs Boys NDP 2; Yasmin Rundle — 2nd in the 13+ Girls NDP 2; Arran Stannard-Heap — 1st in the 13-14yrs Boys NDP 5; Emillie Hughes — 1st in the Under 15yrs Girls DIS CAT 1 Level 1; Noah Ryder — 4th in the 9-10yrs Boys NDP 1; Sienna Mallett — 6th in the 13+ Girls NDP 4
