THREE former Bude players will be part of Plymouth Albion’s squad for their 2025/26 National League One campaign.

Lock Freddie Stevenson, who stands at an imposing 6’7, has recently completed his university commitments which he has combined with playing for Championship outfit Caldy.

He made 20 appearances for the club in the league and also five in the Premiership Cup which includes opposition from the top-flight.

Reflecting on the move, Stevenson told the club website: ““I’m looking forward to coming back home after a few years away at university and joining a club as well supported as Plymouth. I can’t wait to get started.”

Head coach Ryan Lamb added: ““Freddie’s got the size, the skill, and the right mindset. He fits the system and he fits the ambition.”

That announcement follows in the footsteps that both versatile forward Angus Hodges and winger Kyle Speare have also extended their stays at Brickfields.

Hodges, who has become a firm fans favourite with his all-action displays in the back-row and occasionally at lock since joining ahead of the 2022/23 season, is currently recovering from a serious shoulder injury suffered towards the end of the season, but had this to say on extending his time in Devon.

He told the website: “It’s a very exciting time to be involved in the club. We’ve had a lot of local young talent coming into the setup over the past couple of seasons, and I can’t wait to see where this group can take things!”

Speare was unable to take to the field having broken his leg during pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, but is delighted to be back involved.

He said: “The boys got me back. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I can’t wait to get stuck in and be back out there with everyone.”
