LAUNCESTON Rugby Club under 10s wore false moustaches on Saturday as they did their bit to raise money for Movember, raising funds and awareness of men’s health. A rugby ball was signed by the 1st XV players and the youngsters went round the club during the !st XV game against Cambridge, shaking their collecting buckets. For those who hadn’t grown one over the month, false moustaches were on sale for £1. After the match, a large crowd gathered in the club house to hear the results of the moustache competitions — the best looking child with a moustache went to Tia Hatch; Roger Venton won the best adult male and Jill Duke won the best ‘mo sister.’ Each winner was presented with a Launceston Rugby Club beanie hat. Peter Sandercock from the club said: “We had good responses from everybody. It went down well. The weather didn’t help but at the end of the day I think we raised quite a bit.” The group raised just over £250.
