LAUNCESTON Panthers girls rugby team (pictured) have been given new kit, which was recently worn for the first time.

The kit is sponsored by a number of local businesses.

It was recently worn at the successful ‘Pitch Up and Play’ event that Launceston hosted down at Polson Bridge, which was attended by 100 girls from various clubs from all over Devon and Cornwall.

Launceston Rugby Club have successfully had a girls rugby squad for the past three years and have RFU qualified coaches as well as experienced helpers.

The team have a healthy squad already, but are always looking for more girls to come along.

Anyone from under 12 up to under 18 are welcome.

Training takes place on Wednesdays from 6.15pm to 7.30pm with a taster session available.
