A?VIRTUOSO performance from Richard Jasper gave Camelford a kickstart to their season, with a tight and tense victory over Stithians at Lane End in the Cornwall and Devon League.

After being hammered by Lankelly-Fowey in their league opener and being forced to concede last week’s game at Helston, the Camels needed a response.

At half-time they found themselves behind and it looked like another long afternoon ahead.

However once the hosts got themselves level, Jasper converted his own try plus two penalties to give them a morale-boosting win ahead of Saturday’s long trip down to St Agnes.
