ANDY Knight and Adam Merritt have signed for the Cornish All Blacks from Saltash.

It’s a welcome return to the club for prop Knight, who first played at Polson eight years ago after leaving Truro College.

He has since played for local teams Ivybridge and Saltash.

Knight, 26, said: "I am excited to make a strong return to National League rugby at Launceston, a club that helped shape me into the player I am.

"I’m privileged to join a great group of lads and looking forward to seeing what we can achieve. I think we’ve got real potential to do well this season."

Merritt, 29, who can play at hooker or in the back row, added: "I can’t wait to get on the pitch and prove to everybody what we can offer."

Player/Coach, Ryan Westren, said: "Andy has certainly made his impact in training, I think he could be a force to be reckoned with in the team. Adam has bought into things straight away, turning up for training and buying into the whole club ethos. They look like they’re going to be club men which is important."
