PLYMOUTH Albion maintained their unbeaten National One start with a superb 31-21 victory over Sale FC.
Sale raced into an early lead through two Osian Roberts tries, both converted by James Robins, leaving Ryan Lamb’s league laders facing their toughest test of the campaign so far.
Albion, however, responded through James Kenny’s driving-maul try, converted by Iwan Jenkins, before Morgan Eames crossed following sustained pressure to level the scores at 14-14 at half-time.
Winger Noah Fenton then put the visitors ahead shortly after the restart, with Jenkins adding the extras to complete the turnaround.
Jenkins extended Albion’s advantage with a penalty before Fenton grabbed his second try of the afternoon, taking his remarkable tally to eight tries across two matches. Jenkins converted to make it 31-14.
Sale scored a late converted try to threaten a comeback, but Albion’s defence held firm to secure an impressive sixth victory in as many starts.
