Between May 26th and 28th, two talented siblings from Ross-on-Wye did extremely well at the US Kids European Golf Championships, which was held in East Lothian, Scotland. 11-year-old Kate Bibby and nine-year-old Josh Bibby competed against junior golfers from all around the world.

The world's best young golfers between the ages of five and eighteen descended upon the prestigious championship, which saw more than 600 players from 46 nations compete and showcase the next generation of stars.

The championship is held on many of Scotland's historic golf courses in East Lothian, including Gullane, Craigielaw, Luffness New and Longniddry.

Kate Bibby scored 89, 81, 89 and finished 10th in the girls 11 and under division. Josh Bibby scored 92, 99, 94 to finish 53rd in the boys 9 and under division.

Kate and Josh are no strangers to making friends with people from different parts of the world. They were born in the USA and then lived in Ross for most of their lives. They now currently reside in Dubai with their parents where Kate finished the year in the UAE sixth in the Under 18 junior girls and 12th in the Ladies Amateur Order of merits respectively.

Kate and Josh are used to playing in sunnier climes, but they both really enjoy their time when visiting their home in Ross each year. During these visits, the pair like to play at their home course at Ross-on-Wye Golf Club.

While spending their summers at Ross Golf Club they are coached by Tim Hall, who has been awarded the prestigious National Coach of the Year Award, and Oli Leet.

Kate and Josh's dad, Tim Bibby said: "It is really amazing to have such great coaches available to players from our local area. Kate and Josh have been benefiting greatly over the last couple of years from having Tim and Oli to coach and mentor them during the summer."

Tim Hall said: "We have a great junior program here at Ross Golf Club and to see two of our juniors participating in the European Championships is a wonderful achievement, and we wish Kate all the best at the junior world championships later in the year."

Oli Leet added, "Our junior program has been increasing in numbers and standard consistently and this just goes to show that hard work and determination pay off."

Ross on Wye Golf Club is one of the finest in the country and the Tim Hall School of Golf now has been updated to have industry leading technology to help players of all levels to achieve their goals.

Kate and Josh not only play golf to an extremely high standard but this talented pair have also have just been awarded their black belts in Taekwondo back in May.
