On Bank Holiday Saturday afternoon with The Park bathed in sunshine, Ross-on-Wye 2nds showed their true potential to the home audience, crushing the previously unbeaten Hanley Castle by six wickets to record an emphatic victory.

Hanley won the toss and on a wicket made for batting, understandably asked the hosts to field. Their openers made a brisk start, blasting the ball to the boundary with regularity but, after sensing a long afternoon in the field Ross were grateful for a fortuitous top edge which was taken by Richard Jeffryes off the bowling of Angus McIntyre and from that point Ross took control of the game.
