On Saturday 16th May, Ross-on-Wye 1st XI made their way to Himbleton CC via a scenic countryside drive, as the result of a road closure on the M50.

In glorious sunshine, Ross lost the toss and were asked to bowl. Opening bowler Tom Porter was quickly into his stride and swiftly removed three of the Himbleton top order batsmen, all with unplayable yorkers.

With the middle order exposed early, Ross initially maintained control via change bowlers Josh Element and James Tiffen, with the latter making a further breakthrough in his first over. Both were bowling extremely well to keep the pressure on and, despite the short boundaries, at 189-6 with just 11 overs to go, Ross felt in control of the game.
