DUNHEVED Bowling Club's green will be in top condition for the start of the season after a successful fundraising drive brought in state of the art maintenance equipment.

The £6,960 Allett mower was purchased thanks to members' efforts to raise money and secure grants from Norman's Trust Fund, Launceston Town Council and Jade Farrington, Cornwall Councillor for Launceston South.

Club secretary Brian Keighley said: "I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the purchase of the mower. Our last one had seen better days and was struggling to cope with the demands 55 playing members place on our green.

"The new mower will allow the club to keep the green in excellent condition, continuing to provide members with great quality sporting facilities here in Launceston."
