BUDE'S hopes of a confidence boosting victory ahead of this Saturday's CRFU Tribute Knockout Cup Semi-final clash with Camborne at The Recreation Ground were dashed as visitors Penryn, dominating set piece possession, proved too strong for their hosts and romped home to claim the league double at Bencoolen Meadow last Saturday.
This was very disappointing for the home supporters, especially as the Seasiders had overcome The Borough on home turf last November in the previous round of the cup competition, but the visitors had done their homework and simply had too much power up front.
As so often this season, the Seasiders started brightly, only to fade as their scrum came under pressure, but with their lively three quarters a handful for any defence, Penryn had it anything but their own way.
