ON SATURDAY, October 20 squash clubs all over the world were asked to join in World Squash Day.
Its aim, to break the world record for the biggest sports match in history and to raise the profile of squash's bid to be included in the 2020 Olympics.
Bude Squash Club took up the challenge, along with 800 clubs (estimated 40,000 players worldwide) and organised events for the day. In the morning the junior members were split into two teams — Team Squash and Team 2020.
They played a series of matches and their results were uploaded to the World Squash Day website to be included in the overall team scores — Team Squash is currently beating Team 2020, 6,209 to 6,002 (a total of 529 match results have so far been uploaded).
