FORMER Launceston College pupil, Emlyn Oxenham, who is now at Mount Kelly School in Tavistock on a sports scholarship, has been selected to play for the England Under 16s hockey team to play a three-test series in Belgium from July 4-8.

The goalkeeper started playing for Launceston at the age of ten and with the encouragement of the coaches he went through the hockey single system to represent Cornwall and then to play for Wessex Leopards in the Futures Cup last year, which they were victorious, and from this team he was selected for the national age-group squad (NAGS).

He started playing his senior hockey at Tavistock Hockey Club before progressing to Plymouth Marjons Hockey Club.
