Bude Inter-League team report

AFTER coming runners up in the Cornwall Inter-League KO Cup competition, Bude won a place in last weekend’s National finals in Great Yarmouth for the first time in 12 years.

The team was in a tough group of four and despite putting up a good fight, they lost their two games 10-6 and 10-3, with Reigate in their group going out in the semi-final stages.

Most of the team also entered the National Amateur Singles KO competition, which saw Stuart Baker and Craig Wilson reach the second round and Gary Hodgson halted in the third round.

It was a great experience for the team against some of the best players in the country which will hopefully help in future events.

The team going to Yarmouth was Gary Hodgson, Stuart Baker, Craig Wilson, James Wilson, Carl Roomes, Jason Mountain, Chris Cottle, Nick Thorne and Andy Pollard.

Lastly, the team wanted to extend their thanks to Bude Windows and Conservatories for sponsoring them with polo shirts.
