Bude 0
BUDE dropped their first points of the season on Saturday as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at University of Exeter F.
Exeter made the better start and after sustained pressure were awarded a penalty flick when their short corner routine was stopped on the line illegally.
However Bude goalkeeper Andy Davis was in fine form and made an excellent save with an outstretched leg in the bottom right-hand corner.
After some more good saves from Davis and his defence; there was little they could do to prevent Exeter taking the lead from a close-range effort.
Bude reacted excellently to this setback and did not let their heads drop and despite Exeter having more possession and pressure, Bude created some clearcut chances of their own but were unable to find the back of the net.
The second-half was a more even affair; and Bude grew in confidence and scored twice, only to be ruled out on both occasions.
As time wore on into the last ten minutes, the Cornishmen pushed on trying to get the equaliser they deserved.
This left holes at the back and the fit, young Exeter side made the most of this, creating their own chances on goal, yet man-of-the-match Davis continued to deny Exeter right until the last few minutes.
With the game drawing to a close, Exeter made the game safe with another close-range open play goal, a cruel third was added shortly after as a penalty flick went in agonisingly off the post as Davis made another great save with his left hand.
