ON MAY 15, Bude minis U9s rugby team will be travelling to Grove RFC in Oxfordshire for their first ever rugby tour — and the boys and girls are brimming with excitement and expectation in the run up to it.
Their itinerary will include team building exercises at an outdoor activity centre and then a trip to the Kassam stadium to watch London Welsh vs Saracens with the added bonus of being able to play a match on the pitch themselves at half time.
The team will then take on Grove RFC minis U9s in a competitive match on Sunday before heading back to Bude.
To commemorate their tour each player will be given a hooded sweatshirt. To raise money for the hoodies the children have been collecting sponsors to run two marathons around the rugby club grounds which equates to 150 laps — 52.6 miles!
