THE Cornwall Fed­eration of Women's Institutes head to Stratton Bowling Club for the second of the taster days provided by Bruce Peardon and his team of bowls instructors last week.

As before, the day started off misty and miserable, but by lunchtime the sun was out and a beautiful afternoon was enjoyed by all at the event.

The ladies were divided into teams for the initial training and some were surprised by the strength of their arm, which got the woods flying to the back of the field. Others with less 'oomph' had more in the way of accuracy, however.
