BUDE Squash Club welcomed 30 young players from across the county to take part in the Junior Squash Grand Prix at the end of January.

Players were divided into six divisions and competition was fierce in most groups. As the home team, participation from Bude players was good with 14 juniors taking part — several for the first time in competitive matches. Players also came to compete from Truro, Bodmin, Newquay and Falmouth.

Division one went to the wire, with Bude's Sam Fanson and Falmouth's Ben MacDonald battling it out in what's become a familiar final showdown over the season. Sam is currently the county's top ranked junior, with Ben at the number four spot.
