THIS week, we talk to Kilkhampton AFC footballer Alice Weaver about the increasing popularity of women's football in the region and her hopes for the season's remainder.

Eighteen-year-old Alice, who is currently studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in outdoor adventure, has always taken a keen interest in sport.

A resident of Stratton, she attends school in Bude and has participated in numerous sports, including rounders, hockey and netball, throughout the course of her education.

Her main sport, however, is football and has been from a young age.

"I first began playing football at primary school. As I played more and more, I decided that I would join the local team, and this lead on to starting up a girls' team."
