ANOTHER year of road running came to an end in Cornwall with 17 members of Launceston Road Runners competing in the Falmouth Mob Match on Sunday, November 26.

This year for the first time saw many of the 15 events that make up the Cornish Road Running Grand Prix sell out well in advance, including Launceston’s annual Treggy 7.

The Mob Match is a five-mile race, starting and finishing at the Falmouth Hotel. Taking runners on a hilly route around Pendennis Point, along the seafront and down to Swanpool before heading back up the steep hill and along to the hotel.

After the race, the awards were presented for the 2017 Cornwall Road Grand Prix, this year sponsored by Cornwall Glass and Glazing.

There were brilliant performances from Launceston with Ella Waters winning the Ladies Mini Under 20s Cornish Grand Prix U20 and to Brian Wiles on winning the Men’s 70-75 age group.

Prizes are also given to runners who complete eight of the 15 races throughout the year with Launceston runners Jaine Hynes, Julie Barriball, Brian Wiles, Nick Harrison, Wayne Rundle, Peter McAughey, Nigel Reddicliffe and John Barnes all receiving a completion trophy.
