County Scratch Gammon KO semi-final — August 16
THE stakes were high and the pressure was on the Launceston Ladies to win and go through to the final round and after an encouraging team talk the team were extremely focused and pulled out all the stops to play their very best golf.
The conditions were perfect, the surroundings beautiful and the course superb — a real treat for everyone that plays at St Enodoc.
The supporters from Launceston and Newquay all came out to support and encourage their teams, much to the appreciation of the players.
To the delight of Jan Harrison, her team come out on top to win the match 5-2 — a fantastic result, taking the ladies through to the final for the first time ever.
They meet Truro at Trevose in the final on September 13 and are looking forward to another great day playing golf at its best.
The Ladies who represented Launceston in the Gammon team were Captain Jan Harrison, Wendy Briggs, Carole Hutchinson, Cath Hopkins, Wendy Collins, Liz Hicks and Bridget Christophers.
