ON SATURDAY in extremely challenging conditions the Launceston team played against St Mellion at Launceston Golf Club.

They rose to the occasion, and with the support of their caddies and club members, they carried off an outstanding 5-0 win.

In spite of the appalling conditions the match was played in good spirit with a very welcome tea shared by all in the warm clubhouse afterwards.

Beth Ratcliffe, member of team, said: "They say mad dogs and Englishman go out in the midday sun but mad lady golfers went out in the wind, snow and rain!"
