ST LEONARDS Equestrian Centre in Launceston was the venue for the only British Eventing Horse Trials in Cornwall this year and the first for 15 years.

The event was organised by Kathryn and Andy Reeve, who set up St Leonards from an old farm over 30 years ago.

The competition involved three disciplines — dressage, showjumping and cross-country — and was run in conjunction with Launceston Rugby Club, which provided the refreshments and food and the most wonderfully flat dressage arenas next to its pitches.

Competitors came from all over the country and abroad, and the organisers hope that next year the event will attract more international and well known competitors.
