The 2019/20 Launceston and District Darts League got underway on Monday night (September 2) with 12 teams in the Open Division and ten teams in the Ladies Division.
As voted on at the AGM held in July, the format for Open league has changed to: two triples matches each best of three legs from 801, three doubles, best of three legs, 601, and six singles of best of three legs, 501 down.
Whereas the Ladies league, which is four aside, remains the same.
That consists of a team game, one leg from 701 down, two doubles matches, best of three, 601 down and four singles, best of three, 501 down.
The 12 teams that ended last year’s Open Division remain although there’s an addition to the ladies league which gets underway on September 19, in the shape of Westgate Inn-based Queen Bees.
Three of the Open Division sides have moved venues with Old Rattlers now playing at the Frog and Bucket, South Petherwin and Countryman A and B moving due to the closure of the Countryman Inn.
Defending champions Countryman B have moved to the Archers Arms, Lewannick with the A side heading out to the Village Inn, Ashwater.
In the Ladies Division, title holders Castaways have also gone out to the Frog and Bucket with the Country Ladies now playing at the Arundel Arms in Lifton.
See next week’s Post for the results from week one.
