South West Peninsula Premier Division
THERE was a minutes silence observed before this Premier Division clash for president and past chairman Ray Boundy, who in the past played for Cornwall before captaining Camelford to league honours.
It was the visitors that found themselves with a majority of first half possession, with a strong wind working in their favour, but the Camels defended stoutly to keep the game goalless at the interval.
The nearest the hosts came to scoring was when Kyle Flew powerfully headed over after a pinpoint cross by Andy Boxall.
The wind dropped in the second half bringing Camelford came into the game more, creating chances against an impressive Launceston outfit.
However, it was the Clarets that broke the deadlock when Tom King took advantage of a defensive mistake to fire home from close range.
The Camels attacked strongly in the closing period of the game in search of the equaliser, with substitute Jack Farbrother injecting pace to the attacks. Their efforts were thrawrted though as Launceston keeper Simon May capably dealt with everything that was thrown at him before the final whistle sounded.
