IT WAS a tough weekend for the Post area’s South West Peninsula League clubs on Saturday with all three sides in action falling to narrow defeats.
In Premier East, Holsworthy went down 1-0 at home to Sidmouth Town. Inside is a report from Upcott Field, while we also hear the thoughts of joint boss Ryan Hall.
In the corresponding Premier West division, St Austell beat Launceston by the same scoreline while Camelford were edged out 2-1 at Newquay. Inside are reports from both plus the thoughts of Clarets boss Neil Price.
Also in the football there’s pictures and report from a thrilling St Piran League quarter-final clash between Gunnislake and St Dominick while there are round-ups from St Piran League East, East Cornwall Premier League, Duchy League and North Devon League.
Rugby wise, David Sillifant was at Cross-in-Hand to watch a Regional One South West classic as Ivybridge edged out Launceston by a single point thanks to Matt Finn’s last-gasp score.
