THE weather once again had its say over the weekend but there’s still plenty on offer in this week’s Post Series sports section.

Although Bude’s trip to Tiverton in Counties One Western West was postponed, Launceston’s home clash with Devonport Services did get the go ahead with the Cornishmen edging home 18-13 courtesy of a late Dan Pearce try.

Inside is a report and pictures from Polson Bridge as well as reaction from joint head coach Ian Goldsmith.

There’s also reports from Counties Three Cornwall which saw Bude Seconds earn a second victory of the season at home to their Wadebridge counterparts, while Launceston Castles went down 29-0 at Perranporth.

Football wise, all of the Post area teams in the South West Peninsula League were left frustrated by the weather, although Launceston Reserves and Gunnislake did manage to play in St Piran League East.

No local sides were able to play in the East Cornwall Premier League, but five games went ahead in the Duchy League, including the top of the table Premier Division clash between Southgate Seniors and Dobwalls Reserves.

Inside is a report from the game and summaries on wins for Calstock and Pensilva in Division One and Delabole and Tintagel United in Division Two.

There’s also reports on North Devon League Premier Division outfits Bradworthy and Kilkhampton, who were involved in two of three games to take place across the four divisions.

With Division Two East of the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League set to be as strong as it has for several years in 2023, both Bude and Holsworthy have signed overseas players for the forthcoming campaign.

Inside are interviews from respective captains Warren Rumble and Ryan Walter.

There’s also more including a mixed weekend for Bude Hockey Club's men's team and the latest from the Launceston and District Darts League.
