He handed over the reins to his vice-captain Rob Loughran at the club's AGM late last year, following a tremendously successful 12 months that both he and many club members will look back upon with fondness.

At the meeting he commented: "It was a privilege for me to be (named) Launceston Golf Club Seniors Captain and this has proved to be the case."
