The GoCrea8 Men’s Hockey League
Southern 2
BUDE return to action this weekend after the festive break for an away fixture with Yeovil and Sherborne A.
In the 12 team Southern 2 League, Bude go into 2016 in seventh position while their weekend opponents are fifth — and within catching distance if the result goes the visitors way.
The match should put them in good stead for their second match of the new year against league leaders Taunton Vale B. If Bude manage to come out victorious after both encounters, they will be well up in the leading pack and with a real shout of pushing for that top spot as they reach the business end of the campaign.
Let’s hope that there haven’t been too many mince pies eaten, or lemonade drank over Christmas and New Year, and that the Seasiders are raring to go this weekend.
West Clubs Women’s Hockey League
South Division
Bude Ladies have no fixture this weekend, so have an extra week to get rid of any Christmas cobwebs. They return to action next Saturday against top of the table Plymouth University.
It will be no easy start to 2016 for the ladies, who are currently sitting bottom-but-one of the South Division.
With that said though, a win will surely bring a boost of confidence into the camp and set them on their way for a much better half to the season.
Trelawney Division 2
Launceston play host to Mannamead 2nds this Saturday at their Liskeard based home ground, and they will hope a win will open up a bigger gap between the two sides.
Launceston currently sit in fifth on 15 points, while the visitors are in sixth on 11.
