OVER 300 competitors all played their part in an excellent Ruby Run event on Sunday, made up of runners, walkers and relay teams. The weather was good to everyone, with the rain staying away until after the race. The first man to finish was Ian Gooding, who did it in one hour, 14 minutes and one second. This is the third time Ian has won the race, following successes in 2011 and 2013. The first woman to cross the line was Deborah Terry, who completed the course in one hour, 31 minutes and 13 seconds. Race organiser John Allen said: "I would like to thank all the sponsors who enabled us to stage the event and thanks must go to all the volunteers who acted as marshals and worked on water stations along the route.
