PAST?Group Two Chairman Wendy Trenchard, Kensey Vale Bowling Club President Dawn Addis and sponsors Mr and Mrs Barry White of Launceston Fryers were present to celebrate Dunheved Bowling Club's recent centenary lunch.
Over 70 members and their guests attended and enjoyed a meal before speeches were made by Mrs Trenchard. She spoke of the previous season's successes, with special mentions going to Judith Prynne and Colin Fishleigh, who had won their previous Champion of Champions tournaments.
She also praised the friendly attitude of the club, adding that none of the many teams to have visited during the year would have left disappointed.
Mrs Addis also congratulated Dunheved members on their centenary season, along with last season's competition winners and runners-up.
She wished the club all the best for 2015.
President Brian Keighley was next to speak, and he commented on the visit of Bowls England, Bowls Cornwall and Group One teams — as well as the opening of the season by Davie Rhys Jones.
The games were enjoyed in good weather, with good company.
Presentations followed, with Dawn and Wendy presented with flowers by the ladies' captain.
Two Eighties Badges were presented to George Atherton and Maurice Gregory, before Mr Keighley handed over an honorary life membership award to Peter Prynne (see page 18).
A draw was also held, with thanks going to Gwen and her helpers for their efforts.
