LAUNCESTON Shotokan Karate Club held a grading session at the Crunch Gym conducted by Roger Carpenter seventh dan, chief instructor of the SKKIF for the United Kingdom.

Many of the students tasted success, gaining the belts that they had set their sights on during the long hard grading.

Laura Danby, Hannah Reid and Tim Clewlow each gained their 8 kyu belts, whilst Andrew Abbot, Alexander Lawrence, Corby Downing and Amelie Lloyd gained their 7 kyu orange belts; and lastly Andrea Downing received her 5 kyu blue belt in front of a grading panel of four high-grade black belts.

The Launceston Karate Club train every Wednesday with Roger Carpenter seventh dan and his team of black belts at the Crunch Gym in Launceston. Training is from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and everyone is welcome.
