DUCHY College golfer, Megan Giles, has taken part in her first competitive match of the new season in the AoC South West League and won by a considerable distance.

The event was held at Dawlish Warren Golf Club, and despite a windy affair, Megan held her nerve and used her experience to play consistently throughout the 18 holes.

Megan, who was up against students from Truro College, University of Exeter, Exeter College, Weston College and Bridgwater and Taunton College, won the event, finishing three-under par.

Megan said: “I feel I played really well at Dawlish Warren, the greens were lovely so it was easy to hold putts. The skills I am working on at the moment are going well and I’m enjoying the college competitions.”

Team lead for sport at Duchy College, Darren Evans, said: “This is a great start to the college golf season for Megan and she has clearly worked hard over the summer months to fine tune her performance. Megan is playing with confidence and consistency and is certainly a credit to the college.”
