Seniors Section

Away match v Yelverton — Monday, September 10

Yelverton 4

Launceston 4

THE seniors were treated to a beautiful day at Yelverton Golf Club, with its fine pavilion-style clubhouse, and even finer catering!

One of the eight visiting pairs included captain, John Bassett and Paul Roach. Both men played well for the first nine holes, with Bassett securing a birdie (one under par) and Paul managing a birdie and an eagle (two-under par).

However, the Yelverton pair still managed to pull off a win on the 18th green with a birdie putt.

Overall, the match was halved 4-4 with Launceston’s Mike Jeffries winning the nearest the pin prize.

Home match v Okehampton — Friday, September 14

Launceston 4.5

Okehampton 1.5

BOTH sides had to pull in extra players in order to make up six pairs per side, but this didn’t detract from an enjoyable day of camaraderie and steadily improving weather., which saw Launceston pull off a strong win.

The first leg played at Okehampton was halved back in April, so Launceston emerged overall winners.
