Tenby Golf Club played its annual bowls match against Tenby Bowling Club last Friday and, although members of both teams thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the result was somewhat one-sided.
On rink one, the Bowling Club's Cameron, Viv, Dai and Ashley came out on top in a tight encounter against Barrie, Dan, Owen and Neil of the Golf Club, 34 to 27.
The hosts on rink two comprised Simon, Freddie, Ken and Ben. They were easy winners against the Golf Club's Neil, Yobbler, Mike and Darren by 39 to 20.
On rink three, the Golf Club were really hammered. The Bowling Club's Mike, Dave, Luke and Joe totalled 64 against just 17 by Lewis, Sam, Gethin and Rob.
The Golf Club did win rink four, where the quartet of David, Gary, Martin and Dai defeated the Bowling Club's Jimmy, Dough Boy, Jonno and Cloakey by 30 to 24.
Thus, the Bowlers beat the Golfers by 161 shots to 94 and consequently retained the Arthur Ormond Bowl.
Next year, the Golf Club team will be seeking a higher handicap and also less ends, although the evening is always enjoyed by both teams no matter what the outcome
