The Bude and District Quiz League held their annual presentation evening and charity fund raising quiz on Thursday, March 10, courtesy of The Brendon Arms.

Winning shields and individual trophies were presented to Social Club B, Bude (first division), and The Bridge Inn, Bridgerule (second division).

The Sportsmanship award, voted for by all the teams went to The Bush Inn, Morwenstow.

The league also showed its appreciation of the hard working question setters, Caroline Pallet and Sue Morey, with a gift of wine each.

The charity quiz, set by Guy Pessell and presented by Mr Bill Kneebone, was won, unsurprisingly, by Social Club B, and they were awarded the Jan Pethick Memorial Trophy.

Best finishing second division team was The Bridge Inn, who took home the Scoffin Challenge Cup.

The quiz night was generously supported by St Austell Brewery, Sharp’s Brewery and The Brendon Arms.

The quiz along with a raffle and other donations made over £950, which will be forwarded the the Childrens Hospice South West.

The Quiz League expressed thanks to all its supporters and hosting venues for another successful season.
