Truro City unveil huge stadium development vision

TRURO City Football Club has unveiled ambitious plans for a major mixed-use development around its stadium which could transform the site into a year-round destination for sport, business and the community.

The club is working with master developer LGV Property Holdings LLP, alongside its members Cornwall Council and Treveth Holdings, on the proposals, which have been named the Milestone Project.

The vision includes a new clubhouse and increased stadium capacity, alongside accommodation, a community centre, 3G pitch, health facilities, employment space, retail, food and drink and other commercial uses.

The development is designed to create activity at the stadium beyond matchdays, with Truro City positioned as an anchor for placemaking, community activity and economic growth.

The site also benefits from its location next to Cornwall Council's 1,250-space Park and Ride facility and direct links to Truro's wider transport network.

The club, council and Treveth Holdings are now working with potential development partners, occupiers and investors to explore how the available land can be brought forward.

They say the project could deliver lasting economic and social benefits for Truro and the wider Langarth community.

It is also being seen as a potential opportunity to secure a long-term income stream for Truro City and its charity arm, the Truro City Community Trust.

Club chief executive Robin Karkeek said the proposals represented a major opportunity to establish a strong foundation for the club’s future.

“We have reached a real ‘milestone’ opportunity for development in and around the Truro City Stadium site, that will underpin the needs of the club for future generations.

“We still have a long way to go, but with the continued support of fans, sponsors and stakeholders, working with Treveth Holdings and Cornwall Council we will get there.
