East Cornwall Division One

Camelford 1

Nanpean Rovers 0

THIS battle of the bottom two teams was decided by a late, late goal which ended Camelford’s six-game losing streak and saw them leap frog Nanpean who find themselves rooted to the bottom of the division.

In wet and windy conditions both teams strived to score the opening goal but, despite both teams having good chances, the only opportunity of note fell to Camelford whose Kristian Stafford saw his effort ruled out for offside.

The game in the second half continued as in the first, with neither side able to find the back of the net.

That was until the 86th minute when Sam Stockdale ran on to a through ball before rounding the goalkeeper to score, much to the delight of his team mates.
