St Agnes Ladies 2
Bude Town Ladies 6
THE last three weeks have seen a mixed bag for Bude Ladies FC with a 6-1 defeat away to RNAS Culdrose on January 17 — despite putting up a great fight against a strong side who are rising up the league table, then a home win awarded after Falmouth could not raise a team to travel.
On Sunday, Bude beat St Agnes 6-2 on the 3G pitch at Truro. In extreme windy conditions Bude managed to play some nice football and dominated the first half against the wind, with all of the scoring coming in this half — two for Leanne Stanbury, two for Sarah Badham, and one each for Courtney Ward and Izzy Osbourne.
With the wind in the second half Bude found it difficult to control the play and despite many attacks there were no further goals for either side.
This weekend, Bude are up against St Agnes again, but this time they play host to their West Cornwall opponents and the North Cornwall club will hope for a repeat performance. Kick off is at 2.30pm.
Elsewhere, Launceston Ladies are home to Charlestown this Sunday in the South West Women’s Western League at 2.00pm kick off and St Breward host RNAS Culdrose in the Cornwall Women League Cup at 2.00pm.
